It’s high school, and it sucks
High school is the home of judgment, peer pressure, betrayal, self-consciousness, and bullying. We live in a world filled with a lot of judgment. We have all judged someone and been judged. Anything and everything you do will be judged by others. It’s probably the reason why we are so self-conscious with being our true selves. Judgment is the main reason why we get peer-pressured. In high school, people get put into groups. There are the popular, pretty, there’s the unpopular group, and the people who just don’t care. We try so hard to fit in with the cool group that we act different and we don’t appreciate our true selves. The media doesn’t help at all. In commercials, ads, magazines, and technology, we see ladies who are skinny, tall, athletic, and talented. Girls want to be that lady, they change and cover their faces with make-up. We are so afraid of being who we are and getting judged by others. My teacher used to say, “saying hello to someone you usually don’t talk to and giving an act of kindness, it can really save someone’s life.” So, step outside your comfort zone, talk, or even just give a smile to a person who doesn’t have many friends. It doesn’t matter what other people think, take risks. The truth is that high school doesn’t last forever. So don’t drown yourself in the drama that’s all around you. Be yourself, and be HAPPY!
