Stereotypes eh?
Man, most people (of our generation) are incredibly gullible it’s crazy- I mean, I guess what’s to blame. Here is the media and television. TV shows like The Family Guy, American Dad, The Simpsons which all joke about stereotypes and not a lot of people understand that a stereotype if only told from one perspective. Taking a small sample of a whole story and exploiting it for laughs. For example, look at all those commercials about donations for poor people in Africa. That doesn’t mean all people in Africa are poor. Not all people in Africa live in huts and listen to tribal music and have all kinds of mysterious rituals. Sure, that could have been like hundreds of years ago and they do it to support tradition, but the point is you should always look into it before making assumptions. It wouldn’t hurt to ask about a person’s history or what they have as hobbies. Or is it the media’s fault for not knowing that people are really gullible and believe anything they see and hear? Maybe the media should also respect people and their cultures and lay off all those jokes. Better said than done. All they care about is money made off of views. So that leaves us. We should try not to make assumptions about other people and their history. Again, I’m just thinking out loud. Don’t rely on stereotypes eh.
